MLB／皇家隊菜鳥代打 創大聯盟紀錄

皇家隊20歲的Raul Mondesi在世界大賽第3戰5局上代打，他在大聯盟第一次上場就是世界大賽，是大聯盟史上第一人，不過他在2好球1壞球之後，被大都會隊先發投手 Noah Syndergaard的98哩速球三振。此戰6局結束，大都會隊9比3領先皇家隊。
此戰皇家隊由Yordano Ventura先發，大都會隊由Noah Syndergaard主投，皇家隊1局上就發動攻勢，Ben Zobrist、Lorenzo Cain連敲安打，Eric Hosmer的內野滾地球，送回1分，1局下大都會隊David Wright轟出2分砲，2比1超前。
皇家隊很快地就展開反攻，Salvador Perez、Alex Gordon、Alex Rios連敲安打，扳成2比2平手，接著再靠捕手漏接， Gordon跑回超前的第3分。
大都會隊3局下 Syndergaard先敲安打，接著Curtis Granderson又轟2分彈，4局下Lucas Duda、Travis d'Arnaud、Michael Conforto連敲安打，再攻下1分，5比3領先皇家。皇家隊先發投手Yordano Ventura投3.1局被擊出7支安打包括2轟，失5分退場，由Danny Duffy接替投球。
大都會隊6局下再展開攻勢，Juan Lagares代打建功，敲出安打，Wilmer Flores觸身球保送，Juan Uribe代打敲出安打，打回1分，Curtis Granderson因皇家隊守備失誤上壘，皇家隊換下Luke Hochevar，由Franklin Morales接手投球，David Wright再敲安打，打回2分，Yoenis Cespedes的高飛犧牲打，送回這一局的第4分。
